John McGinity CYT200, Y12SR; Recovery Yoga, Prenatal Yoga

My yoga path was initiated by and parallels my recovery journey. In yoga and meditation, I began to understand how my thoughts influence my emotions and well-being.  Using yoga and breathing techniques, I discovered I could reduce my stress, and be happier and more fulfilled in my sobriety.

I believe life is an ongoing process of awareness, acceptance, personal change, and healing.  Yoga is a technique for developing awareness and acceptance, and a tool for creating positive change and healing.

For over 18 years, yoga has been an invaluable tool in my life, enriching and enhancing my experiences. I believe all individuals can benefit from the self-awareness and good health that meditation, breathing techniques and yoga poses provide. The students in Recovery Yoga often comment on how the class helps them feel well, mentally and physically.  My yoga classes support the physical, mental and spiritual development that contribute to a well lived life.

See the Schedule Page or my website for the dates and time of the Introduction to Yoga classes.
