New Year’s Eve Vigil: Reverence

Share early New Year’s eve with reverence for what has occured this year, what you’ll offer the year to come, and what is before you right now.

Gentle mindful movement practice, progressive relaxation, contemplative practice, shared stillness, kind conversation and readings as we share the evening of reflecting and moving toward a new year.

Gentle Mindful Yoga – Tuesdays – Winter

The gentle forms of poses.  Much of the class reclined with gentle movement.  If you need to work in a chair that will be fine.   introduction to yoga breathing and the practices of mindfulness.

MBSR Alumni Evening – Winter
Jan 8 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

An evening 1.5 hour class for MBSR alumni. In the tradition of the 8-week program we will practice together, discuss a bit, support one another, share readings.  Brant will share updates on research and MBSR teaching from around the world.  ($15 tuition).  Register at the door or email Brant you would like to attend. Gentle Mindful Yoga, Wednesday Mornings – Winter

A safe and friendly introduction to yoga, appropriate for those wanting to try an accessible form of yoga or for those who have had injuries in the past. We will practice movements that teach yoga alignment in ways that are available to most everyone. We will practice relaxation as well as develop strength and flexibility. Easy and modified yoga poses will be explored. Your physician should release you for general physical activity.

Restorative-Orientation Beginning Yoga, Wednesday Evenings – Winter
Jan 9 @ 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm

The general form of postures, simple flows of generous movement, attention to breath and the practices attentive, quiet moments of stillness, mindful presence during physical movement stillness is emphasized.  This class will emphacize a restorative and adaptive orientation so that folks might explore ways to care for themselves more directly and effectively.  This is of course no substitute for medical care of therapy.  The intention is to enhance a kind discipline for caring for ourselves in the way we move an respond to our bodies.  Caring for ourselves from the inside out.  This class is in my upstairs classroom up a long stairway, FYI.
